It has been two months since GMBA programmed started and we have bonded through orientation, MT, 연고전, small night out gatherings and etc but there was still some missing connections here and there due to schedule conflicts and personal reasons. Corporate sponsored students (most of the Korean students in GMBA) came up with an idea and planned a "Korean Day" dinner for all of us with the aim to introduce Korean food and drinking culture properly.
"Korean Day" happened a week after mid-term exam, just in time for everybody to relax and enjoy. The corporate students chose a 술집, or known as bar/pub that serves alcohol, snacks, or small bites that pairs well with the alcohol they are selling. This time, we went to one that sells 막걸리 (Korean rice wine) and 전 (Korean pancake) nearby Yonsei University on a Tuesday night. The corporate students order two types of rice wine for us, the banana flavoured rice wine and 알밤 맛 (chestnut flavoured) rice wine. To pair with the alcohol, they have also ordered 모듬 전(assorted Korean pancakes), 매콤오돌뼈와 주먹밥 (spicy stir-fried cartilage with riceballs) and 라면 (ramyeon). They were sooo delicious and paired well with rice wine.
Everybody was eating, having fun and miggling around, bonding over alcohol and chats. Professor Min and Professor Andres were also there to hang out with us after class! We had class the next day, so Professor Min bought all of us some 숙취해소 음료 (hangover solution drink) to make sure we don't get too wasted for tomorrow ;)
Other than making sure we have a great meal, the corporate sponsored students also organised a lucky draw sessions to give our Starbucks giftcards! Thank you to all corporate students who spent time and effort to come up with such wonderful and meaningful event (not to mention, the meal was also treated by them), and special thanks to Professor Min and Professor Andres who spent time to come by to join us and took care of us.
