[EVENT] Yonsei GMBA Class of 2021 x Dopix Korea - Mock interview for job seekers

It's the summer semester now, some of us are either on our summer break or making our way through internship. It is the first internship/work experience in South Korea for most of us, so getting ready to apply for one wasn't easy peasy. The whole interview procedure is different, the resume format is different, the expectations of the interviewers are different. There were so much to learn and research (and practice!) before we actually apply for a job or go for an interview for our internship.

Like many other schools, Yonsei University has a Career Development Centre (CDC) department where you can ask literally anything related to job and application. They offer career development and support programs for Yonsei students. Summer is definitely the time to make full use of the service they provide. CDC helped us out with our resume draft revision, sending out our resume to potential employers, organised an online job application tutorial on Zoom and also hired a HR consulting company to give us real time interview feedback.

Here is our President volunteering to help out with the registration of the event. Although it happened in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, this program practiced safe social distancing and provided participants with safety kits for free, such as masks, hand sanitisers, Vitamin-C, cough drops and etc.

The HR consulting company is called Dopix Korea (주)도픽스 where they gave us a 'mock interview'. This program was provided for foreigner students to experience a Korean style interview for future job seekers. Yonsei GMBA class of 2021 took part in this program and the overall experience feedback was awesome. By looking through our resume, they made notes and interviewed us based on the field and position we were interested in. The particpants received direct feedback on their strengths / weaknesses / what to improve on, on their interview skills.

So, the program started with a mock interview, then interviewers gave their feedbacks, then it ended with some Q&A. There were 3 interviewers (1 speaking only Korean, and 2 speaking in English). The interview was held in both languages. The interviewers are from a professional HR Development firm in Korea, specializing in knowledge & culture with experience in not only major Korean conglomerates but also startups in the United States as well in knowledge and culture with experience in not only major Korean conglomerates but also startups in the United States as well.

They analysed and judged each participants on their interview skills: industry background, communication (verbal / gesture), story-telling, differentiation, skill and strengths, etc. After the interview and feedback, a comprehensive feedback analysis report was provided along with a recorded video of the interview conducted with each participant. It was recorded so that students are able to monitor and improve their performances and interview skills. This program was very popular amongst the students due to the fact that we've got a chance to practice with real interview questions and also learn how to answer interview questions better.
