There was a mural painting voluntary activity held by the Internal Comminucations of OneMBA from Yonsei University and many of our GMBA students took part in it. It was a mural painting event held at 서연중학교 where we painted the walls by the entrance of the school. It was nice to see other MBA students who volunteered with their family and spent some family time doing good deeds like this. We could tell the kids had fun too!
We were there by 10am in the morning and started painting after having some light snacks, coffee and juice prepared by the organising officials. There were a variety of snacks and beverages for us to munch on whenever we were hungry. Before the work started, we were given hand gloves, shoe protector cover, sleeves protector (팔토시), face masks, and plastic apron (미술용 앞치마/미술가운) to avoid getting paint on our clothes and shoes.
The paints were provided and all we had to do is to follow the sample picture given and choose the part of wall that we want to paint and start painting! There were two long walls by the entrance, the first wall was painted in the morning before lunch and we proceeded with the second one after a warm meal of cup noodle and 김밥 (rice roll) in the school cafeteria.
It was honestly rewarding to see the mural painting after it was done with the help of almost 40 volunteers in total at the end of the activity. I thought we did a great job and everybody had fun!
