[GMBA EVENT] GMBA Night ft Yonsei MBA alumni

GMBA Night is a dinner event that gathers current GMBA students with alumni of GMBA. It is a semi-formal dinner event so we were told to dress business casual for the event. GMBA Night was held on 14th November 2019 at Allen Hall in Yonsei University. The event was organised by the student council and buffet was catered!

Upon arrival, all students were grouped randomly and were assigned to a table number. Our beloved President of GMBA Class of 2021, Chris Wu was emcee of the night.

GMBA Night then kicked off with ice-breaking session by playing the "Who Am I" game where each table sends out one representative and wrote a famous person/character on a piece of paper without letting any table members knowing what that representative have written. The members of the table will then be allowed to ask only "yes or no" questions to the representative until they manage to guess the name of the famous person/character written on the paper. The table that has the least number of questions asked for the members to get the right answer is the winner! The table that won walked away with Starbucks gift cards.

There were also a handful of interesting questions prepared on the table in pieces of papers where students would ask and interact with each other from the same table. The questions prepared managed to make us understand our classmates even more as we shared and gave our thoughts on things.

Dinner was served buffet style, ranging from appetisers to main to desserts, from sushis to spicy stir-fried octopus to Omija soda (오미자 사이다). The food were so delicious and I believed most of us went for second or even third helpings.

The main event came after dinner. 10 alumni of Yonsei GMBA who has graduated from Yonsei University GMBA a few years ahead of us came back to share their experience and gave us advices on job/studies/life/everything-we-asked basically.

They all came from different countries and decided to stay in Korea to pursue different careers after GMBA graduation. What's better than having somebody who has walked the path you are taking to give advices on the concerns that you are facing? Despite busy schedules and distances hurdles, they all managed to make their way here to spend precious time with their juniors. Not to mention, Professor Min, Professor Guiral, Global MBA Manager - Ms Esther Kim and CDC Manager - Mr Kangwook Lee also made their way to the event. We really appreciate the time and effort spent by our everybody by making the event so meaningful with their presence.

It was an insightful meeting with the seniors as we were able to interact with some of them on a one-on-one basis. We truly hope for the best for everyone in their studies and careers in the near future!
