Yonsei GMBA class of 2021's first Fall MT was successfully held on 11th October 2019 at Gapyeong in a cozy village pension called Gapyeong Moonlight Village Pension. It was a 2 days 1 night event planned and organised by the student council for all GMBA students. Gapyeong is a small town in South Korea, famous for its pine nuts(찻) and Nami island(남이섬). It is a famous weekend getaway destinations for many people especially for events like MT.
The student council drafted itinerary, booked accommodation, settled finances and setting budgets, shopped for groceries and necessities, created posters and flyers, made hand-made MT banner and went to the pension in advance to settle things down ahead of time. Besides that, corporate sponsored students also volunteered to cook and brought home-made kimchi from home to share with everybody.
Carts of groceries and necessities were brought back by the student council members who were kind to offer to go the extra miles to make sure everything is taken care of!
Due to different timetable and schedule, most of us arrived by batches. While waiting for everybody to gather, we had some pre-dinner drink session with beer and snacks while we chit-chat away!
Dinner started as soon as most of the attendees arrived. The star menu of the day was 삼겹살 (pork belly), of course! There were also 볶음밥 (fried rice), 된장찌개 (soy bean paste stew), mushrooms, kimchi, vegetable wraps, soju, beer, fruits and snacks! There were so much food, everybody stuffed themselves and had so much fun. Not to mention, we also celebrated October babies' birthday with cheesecakes and birthday song!
After a hyped-up dinner session, we moved on to karaoke session by having "mini concerts" in the pension. There was a karaoke singing machine in the living hall. SO AMAZING! The Korean students were jamming to Korean oldies while the international students sang their lungs out to classic American pop songs. It was fascinating to see how people from different cultures and backgrounds come together, enjoying their time with one another by sharing their love for singing and sharing small chats here and there.
While some of us were having fun with singing, some of us were having a late night chit chat drinking session.
It was the first big event that gathered all of the students of Yonsei GMBA class of 2021. It was meaningful and truly unforgettable. We are definitely looking forward to more events like this in the future, for us students to bond and get to know each other further.
Here is a video of the students cooking meat for dinner. How amazing does that look? (or sound)
