Professor Min has constantly invited influential alumni and networks of his to share about their expertise and experience with the students of Yonsei GMBA for the Career Foundation class. The course is purposed to help students deepen understanding about diverse industries and market situation, manage career plan, and expand their network with industry experts. It was tremendously helpful as the guest speakers invited were from various industries with more than a decade of experience and did not hesitate to answer the doubts and questions given by the floor.

The last class of the course was held on 21st of October 2019, a week before the mid term of the first semester for GMBA class of 2021. However, it was a class strongly recommended by Professor Min and the school. It was indeed an informative, resourceful and fun lecture.

Anybody here of the beer?

The guest speaker of the day was Mr Bruno Cosentino, CEO of ABInBev's Korean affiliate called the Oriental Brewery. Mr Cosentino, also goes by his meaningful Korean name 고동우 (also translate as "friend of the East"), had his team set up a professional lecture with banners, door gifts and prizes to be won. The lecture given by Mr Cosentino was highly interactive and the students of GMBA were participating enthusiastically throughout the lecture too.

He gave a talk on his love for beer, what makes a good beer, what thoughts go behind the advertisement that we see on social media, the differences of beer offered by ABInBev, types of food and beer that goes in pair and about the localisation strategy for ABInBev when it comes to doing business in South Korea and its culture.


There were some interactive sessions where Mr Cosentino did Q&A sessions with the students and him proudly presenting the viral ad campaigns they did for the South Korean market. Below are a few ads that you might have seen it on TV or Youtube, and yes, they are made by ABInBev!

Does she look familiar? Does the drama "SKY Castle" ring any bell?

Yes, she is one of the main actress from the talk-of-the-nation drama called SKY Castle, named Kim Seo-hyeong (김서형). She is the advertisement model for Stella Artois beer in South Korea.


Here is another commercial for Cass beer.

Comedian Kim Jun-hyun, is the new model for Cass beer commercial released in the beginning of this month.


Students who attended the class were given a tumbler each and some managed to walk away with exclusive beer/wine glasses produced by the company!
